TechDelft students deliver plan for Goodget

After a semester of hard work and lots of research the students of the minor International Entrepreneurship & Development at the Technical University Delft delivered a plan to start up Goodget. The report is written in Dutch, and available upon request, as we believe in sharing our knowledge! Please feel free to comment on the strategy outlined by the students.

In short, the students recommend we start by executing a market research in Ghana to find out more about internet access, transportation and delivery, payment systems, and marketing of goodgets in Africa. Half the money has already been raised for this market research, we are now figuring out how to raise the other half. Suggestions are welcome!

In the mean time, Goodget needs to establish a name among NGO’s and designers of sustainable products. The way to do this is through social media and presence at networking events on sustainability, entrepreneurship and design.
Please follow our updates on this website, on our LinkedIn-page, or on Twitter @goodgetorg

VOTE for Goodget!!

VOTE for Goodet in the ASN Bank Wereldprijs Competition!

Goodget.org is taking part in the competition ‘Voor de Wereld van Morgen’ or ‘ For Tomorrow’s World’ by the sustainable ASN Bank. We can secure 20.000 Euro for Goodget in this competition; that means we can start building the website and roll out our pilot in Ghana!
So please VOTE FOR GOODGET NOW!!
Unfortunately, they made voting quite complicated, but please, give it a try, it will take only a minute of your time! The voting process is all in Dutch, but that makes it only a bigger challenge for those who don not speak Dutch!

Thank you so much!!! (also on behalf of the volunteers from Enviu and the students from the Technical University Delft)

Goodget in the media

It is a little bit early, because we are still working out our marketing strategy, but Goodget has already managed to be featured in two magazines this month!

First, the magazine for employers from ENECO, a leading Dutch energy company. Luciano and I are even on the cover! Luciano works at ENECO as a pricing analyst, and became involved as a volunteer for Goodget.org a year ago. We worked on the businessplan together, and now he will consult us in taking the next step: secure the funding we need to start the project. Click here to view the item (in Dutch).

The other article is in the magazine for employers from PriceWaterhouseCoopers. The article was about the partnership between PWC and HOPE Entrepreneurship. Last year Goodget took part in the GetStarted-program, a pre-incubation program set up by HOPE Entrepreneurship. Annet van Veldhuizen and Stefan Leening were our coaches from PWC. They really helped us to focus on what is important in the businessplan.

Ofcourse, we hope that this media-exposure is an ongoing trend for Goodget!

Goodgets: interesting links

At Goodget.org we are working with a growing group of dedicated volunteers to start our database, and make sustainable, cheap and innovative products available for the bottom of the pyramid aka ‘the poor’.

In the mean time, we offer you some links that can give an idea of what we think are goodgets.
